Letter from Governor de Jongh
My administration is firmly committed to supporting economic development in the United States Virgin Islands. We boast a strong and rapidly growing economy that is evident with an unprecedented influx of business development to our islands on a daily basis. We are unique and our beloved Territory offers many benefits:
We use U.S. Currency and have the protection of the U.S. flag and U.S. courts |
Manufacturers have duty-free, quota-free access to the U.S. mainland with “Made in the USA” labels on many types. |
We are becoming a world capital for tax-exempt corporations in financial services. |
We offer advantages over the U.S. mainland in immigration matters |
Our Economic Development Commission benefits help qualifying companies reduce their taxes and increase their profits and rivals any benefits package across the globe. |
We boast the opportunity to conduct business in one of the world’s most beautiful natural environments with splendid panoramic views, gorgeous sand-filled beaches, world-class resort hotels and oceanside golf courses.
Tax benefits and various incentives are only a part of the reason that one should engage in business initiatives on our beautiful shores. We also offer an educated, multi-skilled work force with a unique and superior quality of life. For service businesses and light, non-polluting manufacturers, our people, lifestyle, natural beauty and our pro-growth policies make the U.S.V.I. a wonderful business location.
Come join us and see for yourself that the climate for business development is ever increasing and the prospect for economic explosion has never been brighter. Together we will secure, nourish and improve business relations for future generations.

How to Use this Web Site
Search for a Business:
We have released a new search tool that allows you to find business by its name, location or even its licensing category.
Submit your application:
If you find a submit button at the bottom of the form, you may then submit it electronically to the DLCA. It is recommended when doing this that you also print out the form for your records. For forms submitted electronically, you will receive a confirmation email and any additional instructions, including pricing.
New and existing licensees will find this medium convenient in attaining and renewing their business licenses. As the Department also mediates consumer disputes, this also provides much needed resources to keep consumers on the top of their game in the marketplace.
Help for New Businesses:
The United States Virgin Islands is a unique place for business development. We offer tax benefits to qualified establishments through our Industrial Development Commission (IDC).
The tax benefits contained in the IDC package, combined with our knowledgeable workforce and our status as a territory of the United States, make us a prime destination for business ventures.
Mission Statement
To insure that all businesses and individuals comply with the licensing laws of the Virgin Islands through education, regulation, and enforcement and to educate, protect, and represent consumers in a cost effective manner.
