Attorneys licensed to practice in the Virgin Islands are exempt from the examination.
Engaging in business prior to the approval and issuance of a business license by the V.I. Real Estate
Commission is a serious violation of Law. DO NOT commence business until properly licensed to do

REQUIREMENTS FOR COMPLETED APPLICATION
1. Applicant is required to pay a non-refundable application fee of $50.00
2. Applicant must be at least 18 years of age and a resident of the Virgin Islands at least 30 days
immediately prior to submission of application.
3. The following documents, if applicable, must accompany the application.
a. Attorneys applying for a Broker’s license must provide a certificate of Good Standing
from the Territorial or District Court of the Virgin Islands.
b. Persons applying for a Broker’s License, holding a salesman’s license must provide
proof that he/she has held that license for 2 consecutive years.
c. Persons applying for a Salesman License must provide a letter of sponsorship from a
V.I. licensed Broker.
d. A favorable Tax Clearance Letter from the V.I. Bureau of Internal Revenue
e. Virgin Islands Police record check
PLEASE NOTE:
If you were born in a foreign country, you are required to give the date of naturalization or date
when permanent resident status was established. Please provide a certified copy of documentation
for inspection with this application.
Upon successful completion of the real estate broker’s or salesman examination, applicants will be
required to pay the license fee for permanent licensure in the Virgin Islands.
License expires 1 year from the date of issuance and must be renewed prior to expiration.
